The WordPress Magazine Theme (WP-Magazine for short), is a premium theme developed and designed by Michael Pollock of Solostream.
Now, this isn’t your typical magazine theme. While it does come with a price tag attached, there are dozens of options and flexibility. This theme was one of the first in the magazine theme “revolution” and has set the standard for what people are looking for in a magazine theme.
While the theme was released last November, it is compatible with the most recent versions of WordPress, and versions of WordPress below 2.2, although you must use the Sidebar Widgets plugin.
The index page of the theme contains a featured content scroller, drop-down navigation menus, current date, banner ads (300×250 and 468×60), featured/recent content, areas for links, a Flash video area, tabbed content area, as well as a recent comments area in the sidebar. These areas are all easily customized with your own content, but it just shows how much room and power you have over the design and layout of the main page.
With all the customization options built into the theme, you can easily build sites for clients, multiple domains, or personal sites. In this sense, it can be the perfect theme for starting projects and creating multiple projects from a single theme.
