Yesterday, a “new” premium themes site launched, WooThemes, which is founded where the Premium News Theme left off. There are “cutting edge WordPress templates, packed full of features, presented beautifully with clean layouts, slick color, palettes and neat typography” on the site, with Adii, Magnus Jepson, Mark Forrester, and Elliot Jay Stocks (a new addition to the team, who previously worked at Carsonified). On a side note, I do realize that this post comes two days late. I have, however included additional details that have been answered through comments.
You can see an example options panel of the Fresh News Theme here, which has been taken from Adii’s site.
Changes and New Additions
The old PNT site wasn’t expandable. When it comes to purchasing products anywhere, I feel that the whole experience, from the presell to the support should be a seamless process, which, for the most part, WooThemes accomplishes. All elements of the new layout have been integrated with dedicated pages for purchasing the theme and a more clean, organized themes page with more concise details about each theme. With the addition of both a themes club and the ability to purchase the themes individually, more people will be purchasing the themes, at savings of between 43 and 67 percent off the original prices, plus hundreds of dollars of savings for each quarterly theme club purchase (10+ themes available at all times).
Previous customers of developer licenses and larger packages on the old site have been sent out newsletters notifying them of the transition and the ability to get a subscription on the new site. Improved support is also one of the top priorities of the new site, with a redesigned Support Page, featuring quick access links to individual themes’ documentation and the Forum (login required). The support is more directed away from individuals asking questions through email, but rather by allowing theme users to find the answers through a content-packed forum.
On the end of people wishing to profit from their site, a new Affiliate Program was launched, running under the “Earn Once, Earn Forever” model. Each and every theme or subscription sold will put 20% into your pocket plus 10% for every subscription purchased beyond the initial sale (renewals). Along with the site launch, two new themes were added, VibrantCMS (tailored for businesses/selling products) and ProudFolio (a combination of a portfolio and blog).
Note: The Premium News Themes that were featured here and those in queue have all been updated with new links and pricing information, with information about the themes club on each.
