Extended Theme Description:
Please Note: This theme is no longer available/not being sold or has changed dramatically from what is shown here. Return to the homepage to find other great WordPress and related themes.
The Viva7 Theme, designed by Media Tricks, is an advanced theme that requires no editing of code, is fully customizable, and has a unique magazine look that puts it in line with many other themes that sell for a much higher price.
While many themes on the market tout that you are able to customize everything from the back-end panel, some do not include quite the number of features that the Viva7 theme has built into the back-end. Within the Theme Panel of WordPress, there are two separate areas to edit the theme – Theme Options and HTML Inserts. Inside each of these areas, there are additional areas, for customizing the color scheme, header, layout, homepage selections, comments, search engine optimization (SEO), subscription settings, layout fixes, and miscellaneous.
For a quick run-down of the features within each of these sub-categories, I’ll just say that many of them include options that you would normally need a plugin or would need to spend hours editing the code. Some of them include pages that should be excluded from the main header navigation, color schemes, categories that should be excluded from the sub-menu, sidebar width, alignment, date format, archive/page options, site welcome box, read more links, and more – the list keeps going on and on!
There are dozens of additional features (many highlighted in the “additional features” area below) that help you take your website to a whole new level.
The homepage features a drop-down navigation menu, header bar that allows you to quickly sign-in or register to your site. In the main content area, there is a featured/latest post, content slider for images, additional post excerpts beneath this, a tabbed links/content area in the sidebar, newsletter subscription box, Flash video, AdSense blocks, tags/calendar/etc.
The theme is targeted towards people who want to create media-oriented sites and community-related portals, as the plugins allow you to add images, video, and events to your site. In addition, it is for bloggers who are simply tired of having to edit their theme code, and want to have full control over the elements in their theme.
Take a look at the customization panel (large screenshot).
Support: After-sales support will be provided.
Update: Version 1.1 of the theme was released on August 23, 2008, and includes updates based on user feedback and suggestions. Starting in December, an additional color scheme/layout configuration will be added, essentially season-based themes for spicing up your website.

Even More Features (Excerpt from the designer’s site):
Viva 7 is fully customizable from the WP Dashboard. Re-arrange your site with no code editing!
We had no plans to go into the WordPress theme business but after supporting users with our Viva range of plugins over the past months we realized that there seemed to be something missing in the new Magazine Theme market…. A theme that was easy to customize and totally flexible.
All the magazine theme’s around relied heavily on the user making a mass of code edits to position content in the right sections, a hefty amount of manual thumbnail creation and numerous custom fields added to each post to create that Magazine look and feel. The end result was a blog that looked great but took forever to update and post to.
If you are like us you want to have a great looking blog but also want it to be easy and quick to add content on. Viva7 offers exactly that.
FRESH VIDEO CONTENT
Themes like Revolution and Mimbo also included video in their layout but choice of video content was limited to a single Video that the site admin has to update regularly to keep a fresh look for repeat visitors. We took on the challenge in Viva7 to create a dynamic Video Widget that could serve random videos from a playlist on each page load – or offer specific videos on key pages and posts.CSS FREE COLOR EDITS
Changing the background color, pattern or style of most premium WP themes is also a challenge for those not familiar with CSS files. Our aim with VIVA7 is to provide seven core color schemes that are ready to go out of the box. What’s more you can quickly and easily edit key color elements on the page through the Theme Options page, and without a single CSS edit create a site that has the look and feel you want – FAST. Creating a whole new color scheme is easy too – just copy a scheme folder and edit to suitWRITE->UPLOAD->PUBLISH
Most importantly, when it comes to writing content, VIVA7 out performs all other Premium themes. Write your post and upload an image. That’s all you need to do. All your homepage thumbnails are generated on the fly – NO custom fields required! Your post is added to the homepage in full magazine style as well as to the Viva carousel. You can also upload a Per Post header image direct from the Add Media uploader while editing a post, and your header image will be displayed exclusively on that post or page. Check out the THRILLS and CHILLS post on this site to see how effective that feature alone can be. You can even just fill a folder with header images and have them randomly displayed on your site to give a really FRESH look oon every page load.BUT THERE’S MORE…
Viva7 comes with three new EXCLUSIVE Viva plugins. Viva Video widget (already mentioned), Viva Menu Bar which adds the option of an unobtrusive admin menu to your homepage and Viva Events – a huge PLUS for site owners who want to publicize events and list them on their homepage by event date rather than post date. The Viva7 homepage can be setup to display date boxes, comments and author information (like a regular blog site) or given a more neutral CMS feel by excluding these elements- all from the WP Dashboard. The result is a theme that takes WordPress to a whole new dimension. It’s the new WordPress revolution!

Version 2 of the Viva 7 theme was released on March 2009. The most obvious difference is that the Welcome box has been removed and a Grid Box, with one large and 6 small windows on posts. It can be displayed either at the top or the bottom of the home page.
Other features of the upgrade
I would also add that the developer Tim Waddell provides an excellent support service.
