Extended Theme Description:
The Thesis Theme is an advanced WordPress theme and much more!
In late April, Chris announced the release of this theme, and it was open to people who wanted to purchase the theme in pre-launch mode and by July 3rd, the final (1.0) version was released, resulting in one of the most powerful themes to ever be released for WordPress.
PURCHASE THE ULTIMATE WORDPRESS THEME TODAY!
By default, the theme is prominently white and gray, although it easy to customize each element using the clean CSS code. The main page of the theme features a rotating header image, “featured” content area, and three column layout.
Taking a thorough look at the theme, you will find that this is one of the most advanced, yet most well-styled themes on the market today. All customization can be done through the Theme Options page (screenshot).
Quote from Chris Pearson:
I built the Thesis Theme because I wanted a framework that had it all—killer typography, a dynamically resizable layout, intelligent code, airtight optimization, and tons of flexibility. Now, after months of field testing, I’m confident enough to offer it to those of you who have come to expect nothing but the finest themes from me.
Support: Leave a comment on one of the posts, in the forums, or contact the designer directly.

Additional Features:
- Compatible with WordPress 2.6 and a few versions lower.
- Three column layout
- Widget-ready
- Code is among the most search engine optimized (SEO) themes on the market; you simply need to produce brilliant copy and build links and your site will be a surefire success
- Theme is accessible and usable from both the admin and visitor standpoint
- Extremely documented, for example, the 1.0.2 release fixed the static home page navigation menu, with instructions included how to upgrade, and further instructions on how to add custom backgrounds, style images, and more.
- Robust Multimedia Box Options – You can easily customize the multimedia box with automated image rotator, easily embed a video, custom code, disable the box by default, or override the default settings and display an image, video, or code on individual pages and posts through the use of Custom Fields.
- No coding is required for many of the features!
- Smart Image Rotation – Simply place images you want rotated in the “/rotator” folder, and they will be added to the rotation roster, then resized using the appropriate size class. If you supply an alt tag to the image, the theme will add that to the img tag output. Most common aspect ratios (3×2, 2×3, 4×3, 16×9, 4×5, etc.) have no problem resizing properly.
- Customizable, Advanced Navigation Menu – A simple interface allowing you to remove links from the navigation menu without having to touch the code.
- New File Structure – All user-customized files are placed in a folder called “/custom”, and your stylesheet is located inside this folder, as well as “/images”, which causes less of a hassle when upgrading or modifying your theme.
- RSS Feed Management – Simply drop your feed address into the options box on the theme customization page, making it easier to change your feed address without additional plugins.
- Simple Stats and Scripts Management – You’ll never have to deal with missing code for the tracking system again – you add the code through the customization panel, and the theme will insert it into the appropriate location.
- New Approach to Sidebar Widgets – Complete control over the sidebar content is in your hands; you can easily customize the default search widget text, Google Custom Search widget, or recent posts from any category.
- Microformats – Microformats give you an edge on the web standards movement, also keeping your site up-to-date with new design/coding technologies, as it is the foundation of many sites.
- Comments and Trackbacks – Trackbacks are generated in a concise, easy-to-read list above the comments. When there are no trackbacks, the area will not appear.
- Page-Specific Classes – Pages created using the theme will allow you to apply unique custom styles for any page of your site. For example, if you want to create a separate gallery page, you can style that differently (colors, text, images) differently than the archives page.
- [Better] Previous and Next Links – With no posts to display, there won’t be any gray lines or empty boxes where previous and next links previously displayed.
- Title and Tagline Control – Inside the theme customization panel, you can turn the title and tagline of your site on or off.
- Author and Date Control on Posts and Pages – In the Display Options of the options panel, you can change how the bylines are constructed.
- Slick Tagging Control – Using Microformats, you can turn tagging on or off within the options panel, and whether they link to the tag archive pages.
- In Version 1.3 – Minor tweaks and improvements, including a completely modularized HTML markup structure, making the theme more agile and flexible than ever before. It can render more layouts than ever, including a three-column layout where all the content is in the middle. In total, there are six different columnar arrangement possibilities, between the 1, 2, and 3 column layouts.
- A new HTML framework was also added, allowing you to change the underlying HTML structure without affecting any other elements of the theme. In simple terms, you will never have to change, or even worry about your site’s core code ever again. The theme now supports 31 different hooks that you can use to add and subtract content all over the theme, such as ads, design embellishments, plugin compatibility, etc.
- Coming in Version 1.4 – Theme will be further updated with “hooks” that allow Thesis to support any design with the same code framework. This will also allow you to have a landing page or a magazine-style theme.
- Theme has also been updated for added efficiency, fixes, compatibility, and more.
