Extended Theme Description:

The Dark Side is a premium magazine site from Jerico Systems.  While the theme has been ported from the WP-Magazine.se theme, it features a dark look, which some prefer over the clean, white and black theme that the original theme consisted of.

The main page features several of the popular elements that are built into most WordPress blogs, including RSS links for both posts and comments, a search box, horizontal navigation bar, but the typical features stop there.  By adding a 140×140 pixel thumbnail, images related to your posts will show up, and will automatically resize to 90×90 pixels for smaller image.  Note: You will still need to make 220×140 thumbnails for the top four posts.  These steps have been outlined on the release page, and use the Custom Fields area in WordPress.

Overall, it is a good approach to a pre-made theme.  One of the only elements that others may not find functional is the fact that there are no excerpts on the main page, similar to most magazine themes and the original theme.  However, if you are simply looking for a dark version of a magazine theme, this will suit your needs.
