Extended Theme Description:

TealZine is a theme designed specifically for those looking for a magazine theme without any price tag whatsoever. Included in the theme are some features that rival the premium news themes available.

The default color scheme is teal and white, although there are other versions, included but not limited to (you can easily customize the theme color scheme): blue, green, purple, brown, pink, and red.

At the top of the theme, there is space for placing a 468×60 banner ad, area for placing links to your most popular/featured pages, as well as subscription links for your posts, comments, or to add the ability for your readers to subscribe through email rather than direct RSS feed.

There are three columns, although the top portion is a wider area, ideal for placing YouTube or related videos, longer post titles, or a larger banner ad. As shown in the example/demo, you can easily integrate a Flickr photostream or animated tag cloud into this area. In the footer or bottom portion of the sidebar, the wider column splits into two, enabling more space saving for page, archives, categories and other “smaller” tidbits that you would want to place there.

As with all magazine themes, the theme limits you in functionality on the main page – it is harder to customize the single post layout that readers would traditionally see. Instead, post excerpts are displayed along with an image that you either uploaded or associated with the particular posts.

Finally, in the footer, there is a three column area for placing additional links and information pertaining to your site or about yourself.

All in all, the theme is well designed and appeals to many bloggers who want to take a different approach to how they blog, using a more complex, yet still simple theme.

Additional Features:

  • Popular posts area.
  • Ready for Flickr photostream integration.
  • Animated tag cloud (easy integration).
  • Advertisements- and banners-ready.
  • Automatically resizing images.
  • Gravatars within comments.
  • Search Engine Optimized code.
  • Ready for the most recent version of WordPress (2.7 and higher).
  • Threaded comments.
  • Available in various color schemes, meaning you don’t have to configure the color scheme initially.

License: The theme is free for non-commercial use – you may not resell, transfer, or otherwise redistribute the theme without prior written permission. You have free access to the PSD and XHTML files for easy access and customization of the theme.
