Extended Theme Description:
Monotone is a theme designed specifically with bloggers in mind. Noel Jackson was commissioned to design the theme for Automattic/WordPress. The theme is fairly advanced, yet minimalist in nature. On the back end of the theme, a throughout analysis of each image takes place and the background colors and width of the theme change to reflect the image, meaning that each and every post/page of the blog perfectly complement the images.
The theme will only change colors for the first image placed in the post area.
Although the theme was intended only for WordPress.com users, self-managed WordPress.org users are able to download the SVN version, place the files in a theme folder, and use the theme (some modifications possibly required) on their site.
The theme also integrates well-designed archives pages for browsing images previously posted.
