Monochrome Author is a WordPress theme from Graph Paper Press featuring widget-ready sidebars, author archives page, and more.
This theme includes several options that are included in the premium version of the theme, in the Monochrome Series, but lacks the back-end easily editable abilities included in the premium versions.
When you preview this theme, it is apparent that the theme was intended for professional photographers’ sites, as it features a slideshow gallery of photos, room for content and pullquotes, a three column footer, and content management features by means of a sidebar for tags and a drop-down category bar in the header.
Very few features of the theme I would change, as it is a well-rounded and complete theme built for a specific purpose, photography and media sites.
Installation: Installation follows standard steps – download, unzip, upload, and activate the theme.
To change the number of posts displayed in the slideshow, you must go into the Options > Reading panel. Custom fields are used to control the photos, pullquotes, and custom fields. An image will need to uploaded to the authors folder to take advantage of the authors page. More details of these options and customization can be found on the release post.
