Gridline Lite is a free/premium theme from GraphPaper Press.
The theme, while minimalist, allows you to feature a lot of content, with a drop-down navigation menu (including categories), a single main post, with several excerpts which display beneath it, and a split three column layout. Onto the sidebar, there is an area for placing an “About Me” statement, recent posts and other links in the rest of the sidebar. The footer consists of a three column layout, with Recent Comments, Issues (Archives), and Meta information (default).
Single post layouts only display one sidebar, so you may need to change your advertisements accordingly.
Taking a broad overview of the theme, it is extremely well-styled with an included search box, subscription link, and archives page, making it an ideal theme for anyone looking for a simple theme.
Installation: There are five basic steps to installing the theme – download, unzip, upload, login into WordPress, then activate the theme.
In addition, there is some customization to make the most of all the features (more details on the theme release page). A few of these include displaying the number of articles on the main page, author’s page, post images, and editing the stylesheet (using the Blueprint CSS framework).
Note: A word of caution is given from the designer that people without knowledge of CSS, WordPress, or HTML, this theme may not be the best to begin with. It is perfect for those that have experience and are able to customize the theme to their liking.
