Extended Theme Description:

PortfolioPress is a well-designed portfolio and blog template, which also integrates a magazine look into the theme, along with a clean look. The theme reminds me much of some of the premium themes being released, as it includes a back-end panel, well-designed layout, and plenty of other features.

At the top of the theme, you’ll find a gallery of featured images, which direct your visitors onto your featured articles. There is a drop-down navigation menu in the upper right area of the theme, making it easy for your visitors to find your pages.

Your latest articles will display prominently on the page, which have all been styled. I’m not a fan of the “all italic” text on the front page, but this could be customized using CSS. The same look appears on single pages, but stops after the excerpt has been displayed.

Pagination support has been built into the theme, along with all the other major changes that have come with recent versions of WordPress, including Gravatars, threaded comments, and more.

The sidebar has been well-styled, includes space for advertisements and common widgets.

Finally, the footer is four columns, is well-styled, and leaves plenty of space for your commonly accessed links that you don’t necessarily want your visitors to see cluttering your sidebar.

Overall, you can’t match the free price tag attached to this theme, as it makes it possible to use the theme without having to pay a single cent. No theme is perfect, so when you use the theme for free, you have to face any minor bugs, unless an update is provided, but this theme makes it possible to create a professional portfolio/blog/magazine website when you are on a limited budget.
