The Folio Elements Theme is a clean theme that brings with it an attractive look for those looking for a “different,” unique layout. Rather than focusing on an advanced theme for your portfolio, this should be the theme of choice for building upon.

At the top of the site, a simple title is displayed, along your name, to let your visitors know who’s portfolio is being viewed. A larger logo is displayed in the middle, which the focus is immediately drawn upon. Pages are displayed to the right, in the header area.

Images can be scrolled with a traditional mouse scroll wheel, making an attractive integration of the media/photo slider. All images are automatically resized, all you have to do is provide the image and the theme does the rest of the work. Beneath images, an excerpt of the post is displayed, making it the ideal place for a little background on the image that you have posted.

Because many people would want to use a theme like this for more than just text and images, videos can also be integrated, and when the visitor clicks on an image, the video will pop-up instead of text.

While I like the theme for what it brings to the table – an attractive theme that serves its purpose – it would be nice if there was more room to add text, because three to four paragraphs for each photo might not be enough in some cases, especially if you want to use the theme for more regular posting. Additionally, it is only suitable for a few images on the main page due to the nature that they load in (it would add time to load more than ten images).

All in all, the theme is certainly a good theme for those looking for an attractive portfolio theme for showcasing their work, whether that may be photographs, video, or other projects.
