Extended Theme Description:
The Digital Gallery (Variation 1) is a theme created by the iThemes team, ideal for use on photography and portfolio sites. Not only will you be able to use the theme as a photo gallery, but you can also use the integrated blog area for writing your thoughts, updating readers on your life events, and more.
On the main page of the theme, you will find a large area for placing your logo, contact information, and a drop-down navigation menu. Below this, there is an image that sweeps across the whole width of the page, and smaller thumbnail images below it. The sidebar is the perfect location for placing categories and tags relating to the images you have uploaded to the site.
In the footer, there is a three column area for placing featured content – contact information, short news items, and so on.
An important detail of the theme that can potentially save precious time is the fact that you need to only upload one version of each image to the site – automatic image resizing takes care of the rest of the process. When visitors click on a thumbnail, it will take them to a larger version of the image on a separate page where they can leave a comment.
